Kelsey and Kevin had an intimate, and chic wedding at the Lautner Compound, a venue well known for its unique mid-century modern architecture and mountainous desert backdrop. It was the perfect canvas for this understated yet classy romantic celebration. Scroll down to read and see more from this desert micro wedding.
One of the best features of these portraits is the contrast between the light and shadows lent to us by the desert sun and angled designs of the compound, giving us dreamy and dramatic photos.
The muted colors of the florals and sexy simplicity of Kelsey’s silhouette complementing gown and Kevin’s tux played in harmony with the green cacti and swaying palm trees. The black chairs at the ceremony and tables at the reception were a stylish and grounding décor choice, and amber bottles and gold votives brought a minimal vintage ambience to the affair.
I took the couple out into the desert landscape for their sunset portraits with a bottle of champagne. After one shake, it went exploding all over the place and the two just laughed and celebrated together. feel so lucky to be a part of these sweet, silly, and candid moments.
Towards the end of the reception, we snuck away, and I put on my flash to capture some film-like, nostalgic photos of the couple being tender and flirty and basking in their newlywed love. A perfect finale to this celebration, which was timeless and elegant, fun, and so very personal.
