A Stunning, Garden Style Wedding at Franciscan Gardens

Gracie & Kofi’s blush, garden style wedding was such a joy to photograph. Their celebration at Franciscan Gardens was full of gorgeous california sunshine, pink blooms and lots of love. The town where it was held, San Juan Capistrano, is rife with history and wraps you in nostalgia. The venue, The Franciscan gardens, is a ;lush garden setting perfect for a love story. It lends itself to being the perfect landscape for capturing sentimental moments and gorgeous storytelling photos on film.

Grace and Kofi got ready at the venue, sipping champagne, and soaking up time with loved ones and enjoying each moment. They were beaming with excitement all afternoon.

The couple’s first look was at the Mission San Juan Capistrano, one of my favorite places to shoot portraits. I love the Spanish architecture and bohemian tones of this mission. It is the most picturesque setting for couple portraits. The photos of G & K spending those first moments of their day together came out so genuine and dreamy. The neutral backdrop of the mission contrasted with bride’s bouquet and the surrounding florals and nature. After the first look, the couple went back to have some pre-ceremony champagne and freshen up.

Grace and Kofi’s ceremony was so beautiful, and overflowing with love and sentimental moments. I was giggling as the ring bearer and flower girl stood right next to the groom during the first kiss. They walked back down the aisle, dancing and smiling from ear to ear, showing who they are as a couple, and the fun they have together.

Afterwards, the couple joined their cocktail hour, making an appearance on the lofty balcony of the gardens, where they served green juice shots as guests looked for their table number. Then, they entered their reception with energy and elation, showing themselves off as a newly married couple.

The reception was held in the patio garden with twinkle market lights and lush florals. The setting for dinner was warm and candle-lit, the old fountains and lampposts making the ambience that much more cozy, sweet, and idyllic. I am especially obsessed with the long table for the wedding party that looks right down to the couple, adorned with whicker chandeliers and draping greenery.

All the toasts were very heartfelt and given with such affection and fondness of Kofi and Grace.

The best part of the night was on the dance floor, where the couple brought out props that made the photos so much more fun. Everyone had the time of their lives. Cheers to the Boamahs!
