A Modern, Architectural Dream Wedding at The Lautner Compound - Palm Springs, CA - Claire & Laurence

Today I am sharing some editorial, candid and documentary style photographs from Claire and Laurence’s modern, architectural dream wedding at the Lautner Compound in Palm Springs, CA.

Claire & Laurence were always good friends throughout multiple relationships until they both finally realized they were meant to be. He is Australian and she is from Nashville. They absolutely have an invisible string - “it was always you” romance, straight out of a movie. It didn’t take long until Laurence proposed while they were camping in the beautiful Banff wilderness.

To pay homage to both of their homes, and for the sake of family travel, Claire and Laurence chose the Lautner compound as their wedding venue because it is halfway between NYC and Australia. How sweet and special is that? They love the desert vibe and wanted elevated, yet casual, and real, candid moments captured throughout the day.

Not only is the exterior unique, but the interior design at the Lautner is so good. A mid-century modern, luxurious desert oasis. I love the intimate editorial style photos we get in the venue’s suites. Claire and Laurence were sp stunning in these sophisticated and artsy photographs. The outside lent its background of cactus covered walkways and gloomy, cloudy lighting for our nostalgic and charming romance shots, proving you can still get gorgeous photos reflective of your day no matter the weather.

As the rain came down, we laughed and danced to Hilary Duff’s come clean, and Claire and Laurence made the best and most out of the unexpected showers. I also think the gray skies gave us even dreamier photos outside, my favorite being the couple in between the stone and the wooden slat wall, so chic and moody. The couple incorporated brightness into their ceremony and reception with a floral color pallet of oranges and pinks and it was like spring blooming in the warm desert. The number one most memorable part of their day was after they  said I do, the freaking sun came out!!! As if just for them!

The second most memorable part of the day was the iconic champagne tower that was overflowing with bubbles, with the guests loud and cheering on their favorite couple as golden streams of sun honeyed their first cheers and first dance.

The bride changed into her second dress (one of my favorite things about modern reception culture - the outfit change), and the reception went on with a Gatsby party vibe, champagne still flowing, and everyone dancing under the glittering, shimmering lights.

Claire & Laurence’s wedding was SO FUN, and full of so many unforgettable moments. I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite photos from their special day!
