An Intimate Editorial Style Wedding at Franciscan Gardens

Kelsey & Conan's intimate Franciscan Garden's wedding was elegant, fun, and an editorial dream. A theme of timeless beauty and charm was created by the neutral floral color palette, the classic silhouette of the bride’s dress, and the history of the Gardens – with its flowing fountains adorned with sweet cherubs, softly lit lampposts, old world bells and arches, and enchanting structures.

The morning began with handwritten affirmations the groom wrote his bride, which genuinely melted my heart. From there we went to Mission San Juan Capistrano for a tender and tearful first look that felt like it was lifted straight out of a fairytale.

The bridal party then met us at the Mission for some candid downtown group shots. I love the Beatles Abbey Road inspired shot of the full bridal party crossing the street. That image is so playful and classic and never gets old.

For Kelsey’s dress, she drew a lot of inspiration from Haley Bieber's wedding look. The dress hugged her silhouette perfectly, with a vintage feel from the lace and long veil, while also being modern and elegant. Kelsey had fun with her looks and changed into three different outfits - which were all fabulous! Even Conan changed into a second look for the dancing portion of the night. As a sweet surprise, Kelsey’s bridesmaids gifted her a custom embroidered and sequined jacket in which she donned to dance away the evening.

The film shots from this day were notably special and are genuinely some of my favorites, especially the dance floor photos. I think pictures of your closest friends dancing all around you is peak nostalgia and joy.

Kelsey and Conrad’s wedding day exuded classic California style and vintage-y elegance. It was secluded, warm, joyous, and cozy. Exactly what your best day with your best people should feel like.
